She/Her/Hers
Laura Roman-Rantz is a literary artist based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She discovered the Raleigh Women’s Art Collective through their local events and has performed at a few of their showcases. Her experiences have since inspired her to become more involved with the organization’s mission in cultivating spaces that are women and queer centered by assisting with the collective’s newsletter.
Presently, Laura is a full-time student at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. She is pursuing a Master of Public Health with aspirations of advancing her career in interpersonal violence prevention and education. Aside from her studies, she specializes in creative nonfiction and utilizes writing as a source of activism for making visible the invisible struggles that survivors of sexual violence have, and continue to, experience. Her work has been published in and can be accessed online through the University of Mary Washington’s Aubade, Jennifer Niven’s Germ, and North Carolina State University’s Windhover literary magazines.
